ARE YOUR REACHING FOR THE STARS?
If you desire to foster more unity through diversity in your ministry than here are 5 intentional things you can do NOW to encourage more diversity to happen organically within your ministry:
1. Be intentional above making your platform/ stage diverse (i.e. worship team, teaching, announcements).
2. Be intentional above diversity within your leaders, staff, and elder board.
3. Make sure all promotional material, buletons, and weekly service programs reflect the diversity you desire within your ministry>
4. Fund scholarship opportunities (directly through a bible college or through the DOD scholarship fund).
5. Host internships opportunities for prospective candidates that represents the diversity that we desire to have on our staff and in our congregation.
While this is just a start, it is a great start that, if done consistently over time, will help your ministry welcome and eventually reflect more diversity.
The primary goal of the Dream Of Destiny 5 Star Initiative is to encourage, connect, and collaborate with churches, Bible Colleges, and para-church ministries (i.e. church plant organizations) to accomplish two things:
- To raise up, mentor and position more pastors and ministry leaders in our local churches, and ministries that reflect the diverse landscape of believers worldwide.
- To foster more diversity within the local churches, Bible Colleges, and para-church ministries by being more intentional in how we connect our networks, collaborate with one another, and grow our organizations and ministries.This initiative is created to offer 5 clear and common actions that have been identified in ministries that have been able to organically foster diversity within their leadership on through the body of believers they serve. These actions are humbly offered as ways that we can ALL consistently and intentionally celebrate the diverse landscape of believers worldwide within our local church, colleges, and ministries.
Here’s The Collective Goal:
We hope to get at least 500 ministries by 2011 to reach 5 stars on a regular basis, and encourage their affiliates, and satellite campuses to do the same.
