Kingston, Jamaican international artist, Jozanne Marie “aka” Josanne Hutchinson, is a poet and an actress. She is also the writer, director and producer of the life changing play MORE THAN RUBIES, the upcoming Summer Musical “SPIT and the life changing play THREE DAYS. But don’t be fool by these titles; Jozanne Marie is on a mission to tear down the kingdom of darkness through the arts and entertainment all unto the glory of God.

Merging on the scene since 1999, this underground poet is blazing the mic from coffee houses (Hard Rock Café, Nuyorican Café) to church houses, (Faithful Central, West Angeles, In His Presence) from major corporations like (Neutrogena, Sprite) . Jozanne’s poetry transcend age, ethnicity and speaks to the hearts of humanity. After doing over 1000 live events just by word a mouth, with no marketing strategy and not wanting to be visible in the public eye, she decided to come from her underground status in November 2009. Since that decision, Jozanne Marie is now the featured artist in February 2010’s issue of Gospel Synergy Magazine in Chicago while her poetry is on rotation hitting the airwaves on the Essence Show a WEEKLY show in syndication and airing worldwide from Global Vortex Radio based out of NYC . Taking you on a poetic journey, she gets personal with her One Woman Show BORN TWICE debuting summer 2010 about her life growing up in Jamaica and her rise above abusive relationships and the grace of God. Her freshman album 14521 speaks the heart of God and expose the hypocrisy behind organize religion, leading you to a place where you want to have an intimate relationship with God and not the traditions of men. Her sophomore album Fly Away will be out in the fall of 2010. Jozanne Marie poetry is being used by Voices of the Martyrs to edify the persecuted church throughout Africa. Words to her are powerful. God spoke a word and created the earth and the words He has given her will change Nations.

As an actress, Jozanne Marie was discovered by award winning Off Broadway director of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds her Chameleon Skin, Wilfredo Medina. Wilfredo Medina hired Jozanne Marie to star in the amazing cast of the touring ensemble Family Life Theater where she toured throughout New York City for over three years uplifting the youth through acting. She later went on to perform in over a dozen theater projects on and off Broadway, such as No Exit, Vanities, Medea, Marisol, and Taming of the Shrew etc. She later moved out to California with $300 and her faith in God. This move gave her the opportunity to appear in many national commercials such as KIA, WEBmd, McDonalds, Wachovia Bank and Sprite (principal roles)… Her first feature film screen debut credit was in Antoine Fuqua’ TEARS of the SUN as a rape victim saved by (Cole Hauser) who ends up going on the terrifying journey to Cameroon with cast members (Bruce Willis, Monica Belluci and Akosua Bosua. TV appearances in HBO’s Deadwood and Showtime’s Weeds. As of January 2010, her screenplay MORE THAN RUBIES is being optioned by Hollywood Producers. When asked about her accomplishments thus far she stated “the glory goes to the One and Only Jesus Christ. Without Jesus in my life, none of this would be possible. But most importantly my soul has been saved, Glory to God!
